About B. (Bram) Onneweer, PhD

Introduction

professional development
My name is Bram Onneweer and I have always been interested in human movements and the way technology can assist/ improve these movements. I studied Biomedical Engineering at the TU Delft with a speciality in Biomechatronics and subsequently I gained my PhD at the TU Delft into the field of haptic, focussing on the human force perception in human-machine interaction. At the moment I am working at the Rehabilitation medicine department at the EMC with a focus on Innovative Rehabilitation Technology.

current research interests and goals
Currently I am focussing on innovative rehabilitation technology that can assist and/ or diagnose patients with stroke, traumatic brain injury and spinal cord injury. The aim is to develop technology to obtain better understanding of the mechanisms behind the function loss and to create technology that can assist the patient and therapist during and after the rehabilitation process.
