About Dr. R.W.F. (Ron) de Bruin

Introduction

I have a long-standing interest in organ injury, inflammation and regeneration following surgical interventions such as organ transplantation and resection of tumours.

We are studying how interventions such as dietary restriction and novel techniques such as machine perfusion may benefit patients using model systems, and translate these findings to human trials. My expertise with both in vitro and in vivo models and clinical research represents a unique opportunity to answer questions with significant impact on both clinical transplantation as well as other stress inducing therapies such as surgery and chemotherapy.
